NANDOne v0.02 released by tuxuser

Xbox-Scene News

NANDOne v0.02 released by tuxuser

Crunching down the secrets of the next-gen Xbox One, one bit at a byte!

It took only a few months for the X360 to fall apart into a bunch of understandable bytes for experienced scene developers, how long for XB1 will it take, as the same crew of experts unravel its bits!

Xbox-Scene

A short time ago a method to dump the NAND of an Xbox One was released. Which you can read about here.

Since that announcement Jrunner has already been updated to allow it to dump the Xbox One NAND.

Now Tuxuser who is known for things he has done in the 360 scene has created an app that may allow more information to be gathered from those NAND dumps.

NANDOne v0.02

Xbox One NAND Filesystem tool

Parses Xbox One Nanddumps for file-adresses and extracts the binary files. As I only had two dumps to work with, it's probably not
universally compatible and contains bugs for sure :P

Enjoy!

Requirements
  • Python 2.7
  • Xbox One eMMC NAND Dump
Actions
  • info --> Reads adresses from SFBX and GFCU Table and prints them to screen
  • extract --> Extracts the parsed entries from SFBX Table
  • sfbxscan --> If the SFBX adress of your NAND isn't contained, scan for the MAGIC/Header and append it to the list in the python script

Usage

Usage:
    NANDOne.py [action] [dump]

Available Action:
sfbxscan --> Scans for SFBX address
info --> Prints the parsed entries
    extract --> Extracts nand content

Example:
    NANDOne.py sfbxscan nanddump.bin

The next step in the process is to decrypt the headers and find the keys and signature formats.

Things seem to be moving along for the Xbox One nicely and maybe we will see a XOLinux (or whatever its decided to be called) pop up before the X1 is a year old.

[MOD] Use your Xbox 360 headsets on Xbox One

You will like it

Learn how to use your beloved Xbox 360's headsets on your brand new Xbox One with this easy mod

As there are no commercial adapters nor official 'good' headsets for the Xbox One.
We show you here how to use your current Xbox 360 headsets on the new Microsoft's console.

Xbox-Scene

[QUOTE]
A few facts

The goal of this guide is to make compatible almost any Xbox 360 headset (Combination of headphones and microphone) with the new Xbox One.

At the moment of writing these lines, there are no official adapters (Not from Microsoft nor from Third-parties) to get Xbox 360 headsets running on Xbox One (At least the mic part). There are either no specific headsets for the Xbox One despite the 'crappy' one that comes with some special editions of the Xbox One.

The majority of the actual Xbox 360 headsets work on Xbox One (headphones part) but their mics doesn't.

Microsoft is yet to release an update to get Dolby Digital sound trough Xbox One optical port, so, headsets thats depend on that port will only work in Stereo or DTS.

This guide uses Tritton AX 720 as example head to get it working on Xbox One. This headset is compatible with Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and is capable of simulate 7.1 Dolby Digital surround sound.

Xbox One Debug Mode Unlock Method

Xbox-Scene News

Xbox One Debug Mode Unlock Method

A method to unlock the debug mode on a retail Xbox One has been found.

Some proof that Microsoft's statements that 'every Xbox One can be used for development' is true and maybe will encourage indie developers

Xbox-Scene

This method may not fully convert a retail console into a dev kit but it could possibly help some small developers that can not afford to purchase a full dev unit to get started on making some ideas started.

Here is the translated text from Logic-Sunrise:

Xbox One does not stop talking to her. After an announcement of a first nand dump and a software to change the hard drive of the console, this is a person wishing to remain unknown sharing this information: the method of activation Debug mode is now known! For the average user, this feature does you no good. But for devs, this can open a lot of doors. For those wishing to see the debug mode by themselves simply go to System One Xbox and press the four gates of the controller parameter (LB - RB - LT - RT) and "parameter Developer" menu will appear

Xbox One HDD to small for you? TX member Juvenal has come to the rescue.

Xbox-Scene News

Xbox One HDD to small for you? TX member Juvenal has come to the rescue.

Being the first mod for the Xbox one this is a pretty nice one

Juvenal has succeeded in upgrading the Xbox Harddrive from a 500GB to a 1TB

Xbox-Scene

While many people were enjoying family, football, and turkey Team Xecuter member Juvenal was at work figuring out how to upgrade the harddrive in the Xbox One and his efforts have paid off.

Here is the info from Team Xecuter:

Full credits to Juvenal for this little beauty - you rock bro :)

As always no guarantees are given and use at your own risk !

Xbox One HDD Tools

What this does

Given any HDD over 500GB in size, you can format it for use with you Microsoft Xbox One console

How

Instructions

All of this must be done as root! I HIGHLY suggest you do this on a livecd or usb booted system if you don't 'know linux' and would rather not wipe the wrong hard drive.

  • Connect your HDD and take note of what its called (ex: sda, sdb etc)
  • Run the script with the device name as the first parameter
  • It will bitch about missing partitions etc, but write a file with commands to create said missing partitions
  • Run the created script
  • Copy the correct files to the newly created partitions
  • Unmount the newly created partitions
  • Run the main script again

Putting it back together

When you put the new HDD in your console for the first time and boot up, the console will go the the green "Xbox One" screen, pause for a second or two, then shut down. Boot the console again. This time it should pause at the green screen for a while longer, then go to a black screen for even longer. It can take several minutes before anything happens after this, the xbox is automatically creating temporary files during this time. If you copied everything correctly, it WILL go to the dashboard eventually, just be patient!

What is linux?

Wait for a windows version ;)

Required Files

These can be gotten off your original HDD easily

Team Xecuter has also stated that they are working on a Windows app for those that don't know how to use Linux.

Maybe this is a good sign for some great things to come for the Xbox One.
